I heard that in Sept, before the Gold Cup, Drosselmeyer was doing so poorly they were thinking of running him in the BC Marathon, not the Classic.

ya drosselmeyer was also one of my top choices with his latest performance in the gold cup and strong works said he would repeat. i had game on dude to win and a trifecta with him drosselmeyer and Flat out. Now a days u can expect a strong performance from Ruler, but he just never has that kick to ever take a race. He more won the Belmont mainly because the others failed at the distance compared to him beating everyone, if that makes sense. As i said in rant, i didnt go to
Fairmount to make my bets, but i played on paper and made $30. that with the fact just cause it was on paper i wrote down game on dude for $20. Breeders' Cup is the best part of the sport.

Good thing I didn't bet. I lost all of the ones I picked. So disappointed about Goldi and Havre de Grace but I'm glad Mike Smith got a win. I know he would have preferred to win it with Zenny but hey, a win is a win. Game On Dude did great. Drosselmeyer just surprised everyone, especially since he'd had such a lousy season after the Belmont. This totally throws Horse of the Year into a loop.
