They need a densely planted tank (real or fake) of at least five gallons. They have to be kept alone. No tank mates. They can live on a daily diet of frozen bloodworms but they should be able to hunt snails on occasion. Soft shelled snails like pond or nerite are good. I keep pond snails in my other tanks for mine. They need a heater (i keep mine betwwen 78 and 80) and a filter. 50% weekly water changes are important because they're really messy eaters. :)
