Littlebettafish: I'm very sorry about your situation. I do understand about letting that get to me.I haven't ever been on any other internet social websites so I kinda panicked. I will definitely check and recheck my facts before posting. Thank you for telling me my facts were incorrect. I have definitely learned from my mistakes now.
That's how I siphon the bbs but sometimes I do collect the eggs, which is hard to avoid.
I fed them live brine last night and they went for it with no problems. Still feeding them bbs too. I'm trying to feed them with crushed pellets and hopefully they'll have weaned before I go on holiday next week. My friend won't be able to feed them bbs so crushed pellets will have to do when I'm gone.
I just wasn't sure if their digestive system would be able to break down the food at this stage.
I will try live brine shrimp tonight and see if they go for it.
I also read that the fry may have swim bladder problems from eating bbs egg shells...? Hope this doesn't cause permanent damage to their digestive system... My fry seem to be swimming a lot better and more often but still lie at the bottom on their sides (when resting).
My fry are at 7 weeks old now and I was wondering if I could start feeding them other food besides bbs. I can get hold of brine shrimp and frozen blood worms. Will any of these be ok to feed at this stage?
So, Jodi-Lea, that wonderful woman, can offer me precisely six bettas, which is the number I want. This is her stock at the moment:
Red HM Plakat Female $35
Black HM Plakat Female $35
Longfin blue veiltail female $15
Longfin red veiltail female $15
Dragon Veiltail female $20
Dragon HM female $40
Do you reckon I should go for it? It sounds like such a lovely variety of colour and shape.
