Also if you have any sick fish never cross - contaminate anything between sick fish and healthy one, i am wondering if that is what happened between baby and Ares. And at anytime you buy new fish don't share anything between new and other betta.
Sorry for all my messages:) Please let me know if you need anything:)
Hmm i am wondering how come they got sick, you was doing right water changes. I think you was doing 2-50 and 1-full water change just like i do. Did you still use the filter? Just want to figure out what went wrong so it's won't happen again. I am not sure what temp you keeping, but really suggest do not make it warmer than 76*.The warmer is the temperature- more chance for the infections, especially fungus love the warmer temperature. Always disinfect the tank after fish died.If you need any tips on sorority i do know a few people on this forum who has it so if you need help let me know ...we can ask their advice. And when you buy girls you need quarantine each of them in case any of them will carry the disease . You don't want to end up with all of them sick.
Unfortunately the baby passed a couple of weeks ago and Ares, my CT male, passed last week to some kind of fungus. I treated it, but to no avail. :( Both are buried by our koi pond. I did pick up a new CT male with very similar coloring (black with blue/red fins) and he's just lovely. :) And I think I'm going to try my hand at a sorority since I bought myself a 10g with lots of hiding spots and live plants!
