You just leave it there and fertilize your tank weekly. nothing to it really. =] waterchanging is required as well but since it's in the tank with your betta and you're doing that anyway I think you're good. =]

I'm good. playing Luigi's Mansion and enjoying my day off. =] I'm actually gonna start a waterchange and resetting-up my 5 gallon to cycle.

I just hope my mom gets back before petsmart and ace hardware is closed. =/ I need a master test kit and some ammonia. =]

So I heard you got your 10 gallon and you're preparing to cycle? =] What's it look like? Is it tall or long?

I'm hoping to run across a tall one that I can split in 2 and put betta logs at the top! =] That way they can have an easy swim at the top. =]
Plus if I can do that then I think the betta will stick to the top and leave the shrimp that I'll probably get alone! =P

I don't know about the small then big thing, because with bettas there is so much to cover! lol.
