Yes, I test often. I change Bahari's water when ammonia shows up. I've never seen nitrites but there is sometimes a very small amount of nitrates but I have tested my tap water and found nitrates in it at times.

DaBaDees tank is always 0 ammonia and nitrites and some nitrates, usually 5-10. I haven't ever detected ammonia or nitrites in his tank for like two months. I'm not sure Bahari's tank is cycling at all but I don't know why. I've never changed the filter media or turned off the filter, and the pH in both tanks is 8 and the temp is 79 in Bahari's tank and 80 in DaBaDees. The tank has been set up and the filter running since the end of November. I always condition the water before putting in the tank. Both have the same filter in them.

Have you been able to test ammonia, nitrite and nitrate levels in these tanks?

Kanaplex should be treated no more than 2 weeks. If you're treating for parasties you need to treat a minimum of 3 weeks.

Hello. I want to say thank you for your help previously and for recommending that I get VitaChem and also apologize for the additional questions I am about to ask, lol.

I am feeding my VT for internal parasites with metro soaked Omega One pellets and am feeding Bahari metro and Kanaplex soaked Omega One pellets for his severe and random bloating/buoyancy issues. I was wondering how long I should do this? I don't want to keep them on it for too long.

Also, my VT is the one you had concerns about fin melt. I think his fins look worse. They are raggedy like tail biting or something. I have been adding VitaChem to all of my tanks, including my brothers since he doesn't care for his fish and I have to, lol. I think I've had it for a week now or something so that's how long they've been on it.

I have never let the pellets dry out. I don't know what it would do to the dosage.. I didn't have problems with immediate sinking on pellets I used. I used Hikari and Omega One. You can't use NLS for soaking..

Hi there, again. I have a few more questions (shocker, lol). 1) is it okay for me to soak the pellets in metro and let them dry before feeding them so they don't sink right away?

Also, Sakura suggested to try feeding Bahari metro for awhile and Kanaplex if it didn't help. He's still very bloated and floating on his side and I don't know why, but I can't feed him often because he is already so bloated and he bloats easily, but I'm afraid of any bad effects coming from treating the whole tank since I don't know what's causing this bloat issue. I think it may be a little too extreme for it to be just constipation. Then again, I don't know how common chronic and severe constipation is. He hasn't always had this issue.

You don't have to add it slowly, but I would predissolve it just because it's easier to dissolve anything that way and the fish don't get so much of a hit of it in one area as it breaks down.

Quick question: do I need to mix up Kanaplex in a separate cup and do I need to add it to the tank slowly?

Oh, and I've got Kanaplex ordered! - Sakura thinks the bloat is caused by an internal bacterial infection.

Bahari is my blind CT... He is not on the meds, just epsoms. He's been on Epsoms on and off... Because I do PWCs to remove the epsoms and have had to add more frequently after removing some, he's been on small amounts of Epsoms for awhile, now. He hasn't pooped that I have seen. His gravel is white and before, it was incredibly easy to find his poo because of its size. I've stirred up the water often to see if I can find any that fell into the plants and onto the decor... Nothing.

He seems to get bloated worse at night then get better by morning, and get worse at night again, even without being fed. I never feed him more than one pellet a day because of this bloating issue and I have to fast him often. His belly is huge but it is not transparent. It is white... But it's always been white. I believe its just his coloring. No dull colors or anything. Just severe bloat and buoyancy.
