For the first year or so they can live in a 10 gallon, but as adults they'd need a 20. They're good in a 20 for the rest of their life, though.

When they're babies they get fed one baby mouse every 5-7 days, and as they get older they eat less often and larger food. When they're adults, they only eat one adult mouse every 2 weeks.

I suggest corn snakes (: They're usually non-aggressive, are good eaters, and don't grow to a large size. Other beginners are King/Milk snakes, and ball pythons, but Kings/Milks tend to be more bitey and panicky, and ball pythons are notorious for being bad feeders. They often go for months without eating, and can actually die of starvation in that time. Plus, corn snakes have the added bonus of hundreds of morphs (: cornsnakes.com is a good place to check out.

Clean the tanks often, feed them 6 days a week, and give them lotsa love ^-^. If you see any getting sick, ask what it might be and if you need to act right away. Don't worry about asking questions, it's what everyone on the forum is here for!
