    Hey Rawriie~

Just look around for good heaters that allow you to set the temperature, Petsmart and Petco sell the Marineland heater.

Filters are easy. Most are acceptable, even if they have a high filter flow because you can always baffle them to slow them down. Ask around the forums or the Quick Question Thread. Other people will definately be able to give you great advise on filters for your 5 gallon ^_^

Pssh, no, I'm just an amature teen writer. Unless you count posting the occasional story online as publishing, then no. ^_^

Lol, I write a lot, I've got maybe one short fanfic written, another one on haitus, a novel in the process of 3rd time revision/re-writing, multiple poems and haiku collections, etc.

Water changes? Well, with a 5 gallon un-cycled tank, I'm not sure how frequently you have to do them. But, when you do your 100% water changes, scrub everything down with scalding hot water, just be sure not to use soap. If you look around the forum, and search water changes, I'm sure some other old topics with the right answers will come up.
