Since I don't use the OTC medication like Bettafix-I don't know much about it-I would not mix different products together however...could be risky....
The cup you bought your Betta in is perfect....a great container to use for QT and treatments-I use duct tape to attach them to the inside of the heated tank so they don't sink or get knocked around by the filter

Ok thank you! So I should not use the Bettafix medication I have? Or can I use both together in the same premixed salt water jug for the 100% changes? So I can use his little betta container to treat him in I bought him in? It holds like 2 cups of water. I use those little cup containers for when I do complete water changes for my fish. I'm just nervous because I just lost my female Betta Kitty 3 days ago to a fin and tail rot bacterial infection. I was useing Bettafix in her water. I'd hate to loose 2 fish in just only 3 days! By the way, all of my fish are in their own seperate tanks for the last 2 years and I use a seperate net for each of their tanks as not to spread diseases. Thank you for your help, now I'm anxious to get to the store and buy the salt and get him treated as soon as I can today.

For popeye-Epsom salt works the best by reducing the swelling as well as having a little antibacterial/fungal effect-
Pre-mix your Epsom salt 1tsp/gal in a 1gal jug of dechlorinated water and use this water for 100% water changes for 2 days then increase the Epsom salt 2tsp/gal and make the 100% daily water changes for 7 more days...best to place the Betta in a small QT container for treatment that can be floated in a heated tank to maintain water temp in the 76-78F range...usually you will start to see improvement within 5 days-however, if symptom change or get worse you may need to change treatment.

Hi Someone refered me to you for your help. My fish has Popeye I believe and they told me to add epsom salt to his water. Does it have to be Epson salt? Or can I use Aquarium salt? I don't have either one right now so I'd have to go buy some. They said ask you for directions for adding salt to my fishes water. THANK YOU!

Sometimes more plants and hiding places can help with aggression issues and sometimes not....often tall plants that go all the way to the top in several different places in the tank-in the back, sides and middle-this can help by breaking the line of sight of the fish and this help the less aggressive fish get to the top without being seen to swim, feed, breath...etc.....

Hi, I was just wondering if more plants in a sorority will make them less aggressive or like calm them down. Thanks :)
