Hey OldFishLady, I'm considering getting a head start on my senior project (setting up a NPT), but first I have to do research. Do you know any reliable sites I could look at to get more info on the Walstad method?
Filters are optional with this species and often can cause fin damage and added stress....without a filter in a 5.5gal and no live plants...50% weekly and 100% monthly should maintain water quality provided that you don't over feed and uneaten food is removed within a reasonable time....
Hi OFL :) I just wondered, is a filter in a 5.5gal needed? I just got my guy a new tank and the filter is way too strong, and I know I can baffle it, but it seems to scare him, even when it's off. If it's not, what water change schedule would you suggest?
Thank you :)
I'll try and cut back to every other or third day on the water changes and phase out the salt. Yes, Start Right is a dechlorinator. The babies are so fragile, but for the most part, they seem to be doing okay (for now). Things change quickly. But as of today, everyone is eating well and swimming happily. Thanks!
