hi ofl! my betta just developed a small lump on the left side of his bottom fin (dont know what is it called..).. not sure why.. can you help? it is the same color as his fins.. I have posted pictures in the diseases thread!
Hi OFL :)
I -finally- found a light that will work for my tank, the daylight 6500k 10 watt one that you suggested! But all my plants died, so now I don't know what new ones I should get. I want some that will thrive with;
1 inch of just regular gravel
Any suggestions? I was thinking Anubias, but i'm afraid the light might fry them.
Hmm, I haven't heard about any local aquarium clubs. Is there some forum online that I can find out about that? I really don't know any fish-keepers within the area (I know there are some, I just don't know anyone). I'll look into sweetaquatics and see how the prices are in comparison. I think I have bought a few things from them in the past.
That depends on what species on the 36 plants in that package....kinda seems high to me for 36 plants...I think I paid less than $40 and I got well over 100 pants-but mostly stems with some vals and sags mixed in from sweetaquatics-but that has been a fairly long time ago.....have you check to see if you have any local aquarium clubs-even if the club isn't in your town-usually a member will be close by-not only do you save on shipping the plants are acclimated to your area a bit better-and you usually don't have to be a member of the club to buy stuff either.....
I'm looking at getting plants for my 55 gal tank that will be a NPT. Aquariumplants.com has assortment packages and the 36 plant package that I was looking at is $80. Does that price seem accurate? It seems fairly steep to me, but I have not purchased plants for this big of a tank before, I don't want to purchase too few to get the tank started with.
The tank is currently home to a goldfish, so the filter media is cycled. I'd convert it to an NPT the second he moved out. Can I put that filter media in my pond filter, or should I leave it in the tank?
How soon afterwards can I move in my fish? The current plan is for it to house my 6 female bettas, 12 Endlers Livebearers and 3 of my cories (a bronze, a peppered and an albino). I'd be boosting the cory schools to 4 bronze/albinos and 4 peppered, with a view to adding kuhli loaches later on. Is this too much?
I'm sorry for bombarding you with questions, but I am so jealous of your tanks and I want something that pretty.
