Hello OFL :) I would like to address you of the thread in betta chat entitled Forum Snobs and watch out for any more rude comments and if you could possibly chime in to keep things under control... Thanks! :)
Thanks for the reply ......Zen died late this morning ( 2:30 am ).....he is on the bottom ..
he is not floating like other fish , that I saw dead at the horrible place for animals at Walmart !!! The little guy was very unlucky, even the light of his tank ( Aqueon )
blew out with smoke and fumes !!!!
My sister's betta "Sensei" his fins were disappearing and it's a bit on his body. She treated him with AQ salt (2times) should he get Kanaplex ? or wait 1or 2 days ? He is eating and making bubbles !!! Water is fine ,he's in a 5GL tank with filter and heater.
Eats Hickari bio-gold pellets , frozen bloodworms ( Thawed ) and ocean plankton (Hickari). Changing he's water every week 25 % with spring or drinking water and conditioning with NovAqua Plus (Kordon's). Water tep.78.
Betta** Oh forgot to mention I don't have any live plants in the cycling tank, I removed them for now. I heard that cranking the heater up to 86 degrees would help it cycle and I was worried the heat would harm my plants.. I don't have very many live plants currently though.
I will eventually have it divided into two sections with 1 female Berta on each side along with 2 nerite snails. My filter is the aqua tech 5-15 power filter with bio fiber biological filtration. The only thread I've made regarding the cycling is titled "Fastest way to cycle a tank" located in the Betta bowl/habitat section.
