Lol okay thank you for answering all of my questions. Sorry about my nit-pickyness. I am very particular when it comes to my knowledge of betta keeping...I think i will set my heater at 78 which will allow it to drop to 76

Oh okay. But in general 74F-75F is warm enough? I just want to know what will make a betta live the longest while still being warm enough to keep his immune response nice and healthy...

So is it somewhat of a myth that 72 is too cold?

Many people seem to choose to keep theirs around 80. Why the lower temperature?

Please help, one of my betta fishes is losing his color just on his head. His body and fins remain untouched, they don't really really look discolored but on the bottom of the fins is of a reddish color. His original color was more of a bluish color and the top of his head was a little redish/salmon y color. His mouth has also turned black. I am aware of fin rot but his fins are still here please help me diagnose my fishy !! i also have ampicillin. This fish has history of pop eye, and i have cured it !

Im going to delve into the world of DIY CO2. Wish me luck. I've already printed like 5 different sources, one of them a 30-page article.
