    Yes, you can use kitty litter instead of soil if it is without purfumes and additives...just clay-wall mart red bag is what I have used, however, it is a mess if you ever have to plant, re-plant or disrupt it in any way, I use a 50/50 mix kitty litter and soil...honestly for your first NPT I would not use it...

    I understand....its been a long time since my first spawn but I still remember how excited I was and we didn't have internet way back then so I could share like we do today.......

    I don't go by the bubblenest as a sign of readiness, I have had too many successful spawns without nest being built until the male had eggs in his but I will look at your thread and pic...

    Thank you! Yes, they look very ready to me... Would you mind looking at Spiri's bubblenest pics on my breeding thread? Does it look big enough? It's certainly very thick.
