I have a planted 10 gallon tank that is my "baby". I just added a Melon Sword that is just gorgeous and fully grown. It needs some extra iron and such (obviously). I put in 2 root tabs around it. Would it be possible to use some of that clay kitty litter under it as an extra "iron boost"? Or what else would you suggest?
I noticed a post by you stating "bettas don't produce ammonia like you think they do".
Okay, this intrigues me. My two bettas are in 2.5 gallons, my male has anacharis and java moss, my baby female no live plants. On accident I left them for 2 weeks without a water change, and they were both happy and fine. This past week I haven't done one, either, and the ammonia levels still aren't affecting them.
Are these the results you were concluding as well? After seeing how little affected they are I am considering dropping down to (2) 50% a week and a 100% every 2 weeks. (They eat all their food, and I siphon up all their waste during partial water changes.)
Hey OFL, I am suspecting my male has internal parasites. How should I proceed??
Right now I will be placing him in QT bowl. Should I make it bare bottom to monitor his feces? Should I be using salts, and if so, espom or AQ? I will be doing daily 100% water changes so should I keep the water cool or warm?
And I have been suggested to use medicated fish food, yay or nay?
