The breeder lives in a province far from where I am, and he rarely comes for a visit. He has a petshop here which a family member of his looks after. If they still don't breed they'll have to share a tank with my red eared slider turtle. lol

I don't know how old she is. I think she is less than a year old. I didn't ask the breeder i bought her from.
I am hooked to betta breeding! Even though there are more disappointments that success, I really want to have bettas i bred myself. I am at work right now and I'm checking bettafish.com.. :D

Thanks for the info! I will buy a new female today. The one i've got just always runs away and hides from the male. I've already paired her with 4 males and she just avoids them totally, even after a week being with them.
Thanks again! :)

Hi, its me again! I have three pairs simultaneously introduced for spawning. Now the problem is that the males are not building bubble nests. Just a couple of weeks before they were making big impressive bubble nests even without females in view. I feed them ant and mosquito larva for conditioning, as there are plenty of those here. I also place IAL (also lots here) in the water. I use 10g aquariums and plastic containers filled with 4" water.
Have the males gotten too old for breeding in less than a month?!
One of the males I am trying to spawn now has successfully bred just five weeks ago, and he is great at caring for the spawn. Now it seems he has lost his touch.
I don't know what is happening to my male bettas. What do you think about this?
thanks for your very helpful answers! :)

Thanks! I thought you didn't feed them daphnia, just the critters that would grow in the green water. Can 2 week old fry eat the newly hatched mosquito larvae in the bucket that they are in? I hope im not bothering you with so many questions.

Hi!
I have read your thread on spawning outdoors with a bucket. Did you feed the fry with daphnia? I am going to try it. I live is south east asia and the weather here is perfect for that technique.
Hoping for you response. Thanks!
