Have you made a thread on this with some pics.....

Hey Oldfishlady! There are tons of air bubbles covering the bottom of my tank. It's all over the gravel and dwarf hairgrass. I've also noticed a sudden algae bloom. The tank is planted lightly, and I change 50% of the water each week. The light is on for 10 hrs each day and is 6500 K and 13 watts. What is going wrong with this tank? Thank you!

Okay...its a planted tank-not a NPT.....if the plants are actively growing I would decrease water changes to weekly 50% and you may need to start feeding the plants-and if the light bulb is nearing the 12 month of age-you need to change it.
Crowntail melt may have nothing to do with the system-but it could be due to hard water-you need to find out what the KH/GH and pH of the source water-you may need to cut your source water with some R/O water.

Hi! Here's some information about my 2.5 gallon NPT tank
-tank is about 6 weeks old
-the subtrate is small gravel
-1 anubias, 6 wisteria, and dwarf hairgrass covering the bottom
-bulb is 6500 kelvins, 10-13 watts I think, and almost a year old
-No added ferts or CO2

I need more info and a pic...is the NPT mature, how many and what specie of plants, type of soil, how deep, lights, age of bulb, kelvin, PP, how long running, other livestock.....water changes twice a week on a mature NPT is too much-do you know the KH/GH of your source water...

Hi Oldfishlady! I'm new to NPT, and I have a 2.5 gallon one with a betta. There's no filter and I change 50% twice a week. My crowntail's fins are melting...is my water not clean enough? Thanks!

It shouldn't hurt him....

Hi OFL! I was feeding my betta and I think it ate a piece of dwarf hairgrass with the food. Is it going to be fine? Thanks!
