Okay, thank you :) I'll have to do something about the links...

Decided not to breed him anymore, however- am getting a pair from Thailand :)

Sorry for the double-post, but here's a link to some recent pics... He looks pretty young to me.

I am really not sure. He was a pet-store betta, but I think he is quite young- his fins are still growing out. Maybe 4-5 months at best.

I've tried other bettas- they don't tend to flare much either (they flare, but only at bettas they seem to really dislike) and no one has flared at him so far...

I will try the conditioning! Thank you so much.

Hey OFL... wondering if you could help me.

My boy Dallas just won't flare anymore... he stopped one day and I don't know why. He's his normal self, however- no illnesses that I can see, his fins are growing out, he loves to eat, he'll jump for his food, and his tank is about 80 and always kept clean. He gently raises his gills *rarely*, but usually in front of a mirror he just tenses up and has a staring competition with his reflection before swimming away, uninterested.

I am planning on breeding him- will his refusal to flare make it harder? He doesn't seem to be in pain- I'm just wondering if he actually WILL breed. :/ He should, if I've conditioned him correctly, though, yes?

    Thank you!

    Hey again,

Sorry for the second question in two days. :S I'm wondering if you can help me with Dallas again...

He has a little... thing on his left pectoral. It's white- not bright, but faded. It's not in a perfect circle, either, it's just this little misshapen lump sitting there in the middle. It's one or two times bigger than a dot of ich. He might have another very small one beside it, but it's hard to tell, as he's very active and doesn't stay still for long.

Yesterday, when his water was a too hot for him (accidentally- he was fine when the water cooled down) he held that same pectoral to the side while he was swimming. Now, however, and when his water had cooled down, he used it regularily, and so far has been today.

I'm wondering if it could be an odd parasite of some sort? I've never come across this before. Or maybe a tumor or a growth? He seems fine with it, eats, swims aroung happily, flares, etc. I don't know what it is.

    Thank you.

Okay. She's perfectly fine, colored up so nicely and loves exploring. I'll stop with the Prazi-Pro, then. So occasional whiteness/transparency in their droppings is normal?
