    Yes you are supposed to wash all the plants and the heaters as well. I only wash the fake plants because the live plants are not containers of unwanted things. Things tend to stay on plastic and fake plants more often than not. So if the plants are fake I would clean the right along with wiping down the heater since a lot of bacteria also stays on that as well.

    Thank you for the visitor message :). Every tid bit I learned about Betta's has been through this website. The only question that lingers and I have been searching for through the forums for a similar question since I have come across it before (can't find it though). During weekly water changes do I "wash" the plants and the heater as well?
