XD Sorry I never answered the last one! Idk what happened! XD
I was at a place called Kayford Mountain in West Virginia. =] If you visit http:// mountainkeeper.blogspot.com/ you can find Larry's phone number (he owns what's left of the mountain) and reserve some time on the campgrounds!=] He'll talk to you about what's happening and whatnot. =] Or you could TOTES join me in Alabama (if I get permission from my parents, I'll update you) for Mountain Justice Spring Break. =] It's essentially the same shindig except it lasts a bit longer and it's in Alabama. =] I'm really excited about it. =]
Lol. Red meat's not that healthy for ya. ;P Make sure to eat some light meat and veggies. =] It's your choice though and I'm sure you probably eat enough of a varried diet to get by. =]
OMG IT WAS AMAZING!!!!! :D There were hot guys as far as the eye could see and cool older folks and Killer blues, bluegrass, and country music! <3 Then there was tree-planting and it was all kinds of awesome! :D
Actually I'm going back to vegetarian! XD I couldn't do the cold-turkey thing. I think I'll take a year to transition to veganism. =] That's what most people do anyway. =]
The issue I'm most concerned about concerning Mountain Justice is the fact that MTR pollutes so heavily that the water table is badly contaminated and people are getting cancer (rare ones at that) and leukemia. =[ Especially if they have well water (which is prevalent).
I also hate that they've been destroying the oldest mountains on the continent which also happen to be the most biodiverse area on the continent as well.
I could go on for hours but I'll leave it at that and ask you to PM me if you'd like to know more about what's happening to the mountains and people of the Appalachias. =]
Thanks! =D MJ's Fall Summit isn't really a protest. It's more of a workshop and get together. =] I did go to Appalachia Rising in DC though! =] That was a protest! We marched through DC, had speeches at the EPA and PNC bank and then some of the protesters participated in Civil Disobedience (non-violent protest) by sitting on the sidewalk in-front of the White House! =] It was awesome though I didn't participate in the sit-in myself! >u<
