That is weird. Does having a filter on make any difference? What is the tank made out of? could it be something leeching into the water?

My fish Harry died today from the camallanus worms. He couldn't poo them out so they got stuck and rotted. I was quite sad about it but I'm glad I knew why he died. I'm hoping I got rid of them all. If not... I will start again. Everyone else isn't showing signs of camallanus... happy and swimming around. Barry has slowed down and won't move from his little corner of the tank, but he is almost 2 years old so I think it is just age. He might still have camallanus worms but I don't think so.

Geez! That's pretty high! I hope beyond hope that all the problem with your fish was that it was ammonia poisoning (I know that sounds horrible, but it's better than worms). On the upside, that tank would be a great way to start a cycled filter.

I look through my fish's poo on a regular basis (because I'm weird like that). That's how I diagnosed camallanus worms. I saw a thin red string in Barry's poo. It wasn't until the night before I started treating that I noticed the red threads coming out of Harry's anus. It might be worth a look at your fish's poo just in case you find something.

    Hello Hrutan

Nuralim D mentioned to me that you might be having camallanus worm problems. I'm going through the same thing. Would you like some help or a shoulder to cry on/compare notes?

Hello .I'm returning to Betta's after ten years hiatus and want to get into breeding. I successfully spawned once but ended up in the hospital from swallowing to much fish water in syphoning. So i've never had to deal with mature fry before, I lost all but four while I was in the hospital. Anyway I'm not sure what to do with the fry and was told you might be able to help me come up with a plan. The thread is "What to do with a hundred new betta" in Betta Chat I would appreciate your comments. Thank you

Hi, me again :P how do you feed them decap, spread some around the tank? Soak in water and spread it around? Or just place it one place and eventually they learn to come.. Thanks!

What kind of powdered food do you start them on? I was looking on aquabid and saw golden pearls, APR, and fry crack. Any of those you recommend? And do you just add powdered food into the spawn tank and eventually they'll take it? or do you add some bbs in with the power food to help transition. Thanks for answering my questions.

Hey, I'm looking to start breeding soon and had a few questions. How much bbs do you hatch everyday/or night? and how many times do you feed a day? When do you add the sponge filter? When harvesting vingear eels, how long can this culture last before one has to pull out the filter floss? and last, how do you start transitioning them from live to frozen foods?
