I love them, too. And yes, they get shipped to you. I live in Arizona, so if I got one from the UK, at 8-9 weeks old he'd have a signed vet health clearance and be shipped to LA in CA. It's a 10 hour trip, puppies make it all the time, but I'm still nervous so that's my last resort! I just LOVE UK Rotties, though.. Then I would pick up the puppy (30 min plane ride home) and just cargo his crate, and drive him home! I would have to keep him mainly in my house until he received his rabies and waited 30 days after because of a contract if they're too young for rabies shot.

Apparently at that young of an age, they take things in stride, and sleep most of the time anyhow. It's the older dogs that have a rougher time. You let the pup out, give them some treats and play time, and they bounce right back!

I guess the Canadian breeder I was really interested in isn't offering pups to anyone besides who she knows personally currently... :(

Genetics play a part first, then it's up to you to make the dog be the best it can be! Some dogs will kick your butt a little harder than others, though ;)

There aren't that many Basset breeders in my area, either. There aren't any Rottweilers locally, I am thinking of importing from the UK, and have one breeder in mind in Canada. The only one near me that I like is 7 hours away in another state, and I am keeping an eye on them, but if I don't like them, well it's Canada or UK for me! But a Basset is waaay different than a Rottweiler, IMO. I won't even bring in a rescue Rottweiler.

I'm trying to find butchers and things will discounted meats, not going too well.. I may have to 1/2 and 1/2 as well, unfortunately. Right now I am hoping to aim $80 a month on 100% raw, hopefully lower!! *fingerscrossed* If I really cannot, I think I will do Orijin. They are always readily available (2 miles away!) and they have their new mix out which I believe is 80% meat?? No wheat or grains at all.

Did you get her from a breeder? Just curious :)

Ok, I am getting a Rottweiler puppy hopefully within a year, and just calculated average pounds and calculations for his raw diet...

2lbs of meat 5 days a week!! Holy smokes! It's for a 100lbs dog, though.

So it made me wonder, how much does Molly eat?? It must be less than a pound a day... I should get a Basset! LOL! ;)

He is very good, 6 years old now I believe, and uses both litterbox and outside. He'd do no harm, I believe.

It's more of a someone coming in to repair and finding a way to hide him. All the visits are planned, so I thought of taking him for a little car ride or something... ;)

On a random note, I had 2 cats, and gave them to a family friend because at the time I couldn't pay the fee to have them in my new apartment. I come to find they only like one, and the other (who is declawed on ALL FOUR!) is left outside 100% because "he doesn't get along". I'd like to add they live right off a main road, and behind them are orange groves with COYOTES! I called the landlord and it's a 400$ deposit to have him!!! Half non-refundable!! Either a) he'll die a tragic death by a coyote or car or b) they'll give him to a shelter where he'll be immediately euthanized because he needs long adjustment periods. I can't have the guilt on me for either... I'm considering just sneaking him in here for a couple months until I move out...

Thanks--he was named that when we got him from the shelter. :D He was a nutcase back then. Very insecure with bad separation anxiety, but he's very laid-back now. Little kids were hanging all over his face on our trip and he didn't bat an eye, haha. <3

They don't! And I think they should! There's no way to even set a lock on it on a pre-programmed TV. How silly is that?

You must've had your hands full!! If I ever did that, I would be set on the having kids thing for life ;)
