Yea ive heard iowas can be both shy and territorial. However theres plenty of space for them all so I can't see any problems. Now its a matter of catching some

Definitely go for it, they are cool fish. I think they may be territorial though as Ive seen him go after fish that come near his area.

thats good that it is out exploring the new tank mates. I am waiting until the spring to hopefully catch an iowa darter or two for tankmates for my gouramis

not bad considering it was free. im guessing by the sounds of it that the darter likes it under the plant and every once in a while decides to go for a quick wander before going back to it's corner

Pretty good, mostly hangs out in the corner under a plant but has been exploring more. Still not exactly sure on what he eats, Ive seen him eating bloodworms but not flake food or the water fleas or lice or whatever little bugs they are. But for doing next to nothing all day hes great.
