I'm glad your fish are doing well on the medication. I think fish are like people...some don't tolerate medicine well and others have no side effects. Is the person you are gettiing Merlin from a breeder and are they located in Georgia?
Oh, I'm leaving at 5:30 on Monday to go pick up Merlin! =D
Pick up times are between 7&8 pm Monday. So late Monday night I'll have up picks. I gotta find something to keep him in, because he won't be able to go in the 10 gallon till Wednesday. I'm keeping the goldfish in the tank for a week to see how it does. I'm hoping that ammonia neutralizer works. I'm gonna try to get some ammonia test strips. Anywho, just wanted to let you know that I will have Merlin monday night.
So far, so good. They seem fine, if not a bit more energetic. Blue is just enjoying the heck out of life lol. He's got a bubblenest and he's all over the tank. =D Fishy seems happier, he was starting to not come up to me and now he is. So I'm hoping it's fine.
I got the goldfish today, I found out I love fish, lol. I'm hoping the goldfish doesn't die. He's a cutie.
Thank you. I'm going to use it. But if anything looks bad, I'll stop and clean out the tank. I just need something to try. I want them better and the closest pet store is 20 minutes away, and I have no way there. So here goes. But I'll keep close eye on them.
The last time I used Melafix I thought my fish was going to die. He stayed at the bottom and looked dead. I've tried other meds with him and he doesn't do well with anything but JFE. I HAVE used Bettafix with success for finrot. One of my fish looked like his tail went through a shredder. It stopped the finrot and he got better.Bettafix is a milder version of Melafix. The dosage for Melafix is 10 drops per gallon. I got this dosage from Healthybetta.com. I hope this helps.
