he seems to be doing fine....other than his eye loss. Hes getting a water change today with some salt to help a little. But other than him missing an eye, he seems in good health and good spirits :) Thanks for asking!

I'm using SeaChem Flourish and white box. Yeah I found out that stuff in the water is not enough for the amazon sword. It requires something to be in the roots. That is what it looks like. Awesome stuff - I actually noticed before going on vacation today that I have a new baby leaf lol.

Well mine was struggling. It was turning yellow even though I was putting liquid fertilizer in. Not to mention the random holes that were showing up in it's leaves. I got root tabs and put them in and it's doing wonderful now. I had 3 new leaves in a week that are all around halfway full grown leaves now.

Start over. Put fresh water in the jug, use a small glass with the salt in it. add a little bit of very hot water and stir, when the dissolving stops add a little more hot water and stir, repeat until it is dissolved. then add the dissolved salt to the jug and stir. Add your water conditioner, check temps and then pour into the container you are giving bath in, unless the main water container is the bath. The match temps and add your betta.

Synthisis told me he read that amazon swords do better with little nibbles. Something about the plant likes them and thrives more in the tank. Eh who knows. I was just curious about yours sine I knew you had the same plant. Flair loves that plant though. Between that and the fake one, he sleeps in the leaves them both (well flowers of the fake plant)

I have two otos. Which I know they eat plants too sometimes. But Flair spends more time in the plants than them. And Synthisis (my boyfriend) has wendtii crypt in with his betta (the only inhabitant) and he has seen him nibbling on his.

Have you found any spots on your amazon sword plant that looks like your betta has been eating it? I have tons on mine, and Synthisis has a live plant in his tank with his betta and noticed the same thing.
