Hi Byron just another question re my planted tank, I have 2 x 30W 10,000 K fluoro lights in the hood and I keep them on for approx 12 hours a day. I have a space in the hood for another shorter globe, do you think I need more light or maybe a coloured light for the plants. I really want a beautiful planted tank with lush plants. Sorry about all the questions but I know you are the planted tank expert :o)

I need to ask some questons so I'll PM you on this. Byron.

Hi Byron, just a quick question. Is "Prime" okay for a planted tank? Since I have been using Prime my plants don't seem to be doing as well, not sure if this is a coincidence?? Also do you recommend "Flourish" for a planted tank, thanks Corry

I would not use Prime unless necessary, i.e., to deal with ammonia, nitrite or nitrate in tap water or the tank at the start. Conditioners that do more than what is required are not beneficial, and may be the opposite as they are impacting the natural process. Select a conditioner that performs the tasks needed and nothing more, and this depends upon what is in your tap water.

Flourish Comprehensive Supplement is a good liquid plant fertilizer; once or twice a week depending upon other nutrient sources (tap water, fish load, etc) and the plant species. Byron.
