| | Re-Born aquarium guy. looking for advice.
I have been out of the aquarium hobby for about 15 years. The last tank I had was a 40ish gallon hexagon, with many tetras. I am now retired and my health limits my hobbies, but I decided to get involved with tropicals again. I had a small 10 gallon and ran that to get my feet wet. I have now purchased a 75 gallon. I have decided on my gear, and the type I want to pursue. I am going to do a community tank with livebearers. I have decided to start with guppys. I am going with the standard gravel on the bottom as well as some driftwood. Now here is what is still up for grabs. I kind of like red shrimp for some algea eaters, I would like to have some live plants, but not a plant tank. I would like to make it a community tank but I find conflicting info on this on the internet. I have been using the animal Planet seines of books to bring me up to date on equiptment, and decided on an Emperor 400 pump. I also plan to have a decorative bubble wall/led along the rear at times. I am using a fluorescent hood for day, and some blue/moon led for night. So based on that what types of plants would be a good idea, and what other fish. Thanks for your thought and knowledge, Guppy Rob
