Okay, that's a bit of an exaggeration... but as fish-crazy as we are, we're getting there.
Hi, I'm Chayse. A few years ago, my husband and I found the strangest thing beside a dumpster - a 55 gallon aquarium. Now we don't usually make a habit of dumpster-diving, but from a safe distance, we couldn't see a single thing wrong with this tank. We both had small tanks when we were kids. We had even talked about getting a tank, we'd just never gotten around to it. All of a sudden, here was this 55 gallon beauty practically begging us to rescue it from this unspeakable demise! We waited until after dark, partly to ensure that nobody intended to reclaim this seeming treasure, but mostly... yeah. You know what I mean. The next day, there was a picture of the same aquarium - beautifully set up - taped to the dumpster along with a note: "I'll sell you the rest of it for $50.00. Call xxx-xxxx."
It was a helluva way to start a hobby, but 5 tanks later we're still hooked. The 55 is still set up, currently home to several african cichlids, and it will always have a special place in our hearts.
