Hi all my name's Colleen. I am a student at University of Washington and just recently found a 29gal tank on Craigslist. It came stocked with fish and I couldn't be more happier with it!
All my fish make me so very happy, I am sure this is something I want to really get into!
I figured this seemed a friendly enough place to start learning more about what I should be doing for my fish and what I shouldn't be doing.
Like I said it is all new to me, I had a 10gal and 2gal tank before this but this is the most fish I have had and I don't know much about any of them. I look forward to meeting all of you and hearing your advice!

If you have a camera you can upload fish and TFK can identify them. You can research the fish that you know the name of the species at the top left tab entitled "Tropical Fish Profiles."

Yay for finding out what I have!
As of right now I know I have:
1 angel (male I think)
6 neons
2 corys
2 danios (one is a glo-fish)
and my four mystery fish...
Three of them are the same species and one is completely different.
I would guess they are about 2.5 inches, orange and yellow bodies with some black speckles on their backs. They look like livebearers, possible a large tetra or Platy? they have big eyes with a red spot on them. Very pretty very active and very cute!! They school with my other mystery fish who is about 3 inches long with a silver body. He is very sweet, with a black and yellow tailfin. He sort of looks like a shiner you would use for fishing..

Also as an update on fish health: I just bought a new filter with a higher output and it has drastically improved water quality and seems to have relieved some fishy stress.
