hi all.. this has been a very helpful site for me to start out on...
yes i have a 20 gallon with 6 fish
2 dalinmation mollys, one witch i think is prengant, and dont know how long till she deliveries, r there an signs to look for.. 3 red wag plattys 2females 1 male also i think one is pregnate..1 pocomast .... i have been having a nitrite problem.. done everything local petsmart store has suggested is better now but still stress level any info would be helpfull
How long has the tank been set up? If recently the tank is still going through it's cycling phase, hence the nitrIte reading. What is a pomocast? Is it a pleco? If so, and if it's a common one, it'll grow much too large for your tank (Petsmart should have told you they can reach 18" ). You should be doing partial water changes to alleviate the stress your fish are going through. As long as you show a reading for NitrIte do a water change. Females, when pregnant develop a "gravid" spot (looks dark) and right before birth they get a "squared off" look to their bellys. HTH
I"m not a good speller it is a pocosimas( the fish that sucks on every thing) its been up for about a month 8-27-10)...how long does it take to get it under contol.. i have been doing water changes weekly some times twice.. put a new filter in on last change do i need to wask up the gravel in setions .... feed once dayly at nite
