Sorry its been so long, I don't get online much. We have hens, and they do make a bit of noise, although not like a rooster. But if they're hungry or thirsty, you will definitely hear them. Make sure you have a good way of dealing with their poop - cause there is a bunch of it, we have a compost for ours.

I wouldn't go for it if there is an ordinance or code against them though.
