Just wanted to say hi. I'm Jessica, from MA. I'm definitely not new to fish keeping or forums, and have been trying to find a good forum lately :). I have a 29g with some various tanganyikans, although I'm trying to learn a bit more about them. I've kept various tanks throughout the years, but a recent flood made me scale back a bit due to living with mom. 55 gallons of water on the floor does not make a happy mom. I have a thing for...large/unique/monstrous fishies...and planted tanks..unfortunately neither of which I have right now .

I do work at a LFS, I am the main caretaker of the fishies and do the ordering and such. Interesting job for sure. Also have several dogs, cats, and birds. Anyways, just wanted to say hi!

Hi Jessica, welcome to TFK! I don't want to even think about the meltdown my mom would have if I had a tank that flooded the floor. Good thing I'll not ever have to live with her! I remember once telling her that if she got to old to handle things she could always move in with me. Her response? "With all those animals? Never!"
I have the same as you: dogs, cats, tanks and a parrot. Your mom is great if you were able to move in with your menagerie. Once again, welcome.

Hello Jessica and welcome to TFK Understand the thing about large planted tanks, with living in an apartment right now my 50 gallon is about as big as I feel I can go at the moment. Sounds like you have an interesting job.

i had a small tank flood at my parents house before. i was actually watching it happen. long story short it went into a powerstrip and it started smoking. i guess it was a good thing i was standing there.
