Another 'newbie' saying hey. :) I'm a college student so I don't have too much space in my apartment (nor the budget to fund amazing aquariums!), but I currently have a 10 gallon planted tank set up with 4 Threadfin Rainbows, 2 Otocinclus, a CPD, an Emerald Eye Rasbora (the CPD and the Rasbora are what's left of an old tank) and a ton of Malaysian Trumpet snails. It's my first real planted tank so I'm pretty happy with it so far. :) I also have an almost 2 year old Lorikeet.

Welcome to TFK, iriskai! Do you have any pics of your tank you can share? How about of your Lorikeet? I'm a sucker for birds. My double yellow head is my avatar, lol.

Welcome to TFK! Sounds like a very nice tank you've got there! Threadfins are gorgeous fish. Unfortunately, only one of my LFS ever carries them and they never look too healthy. I'd love to see yours!

I'll have to try to get a video of the Threadfins. I'm horrible at trying to get pictures of them! I tried to get a couple females as well but only males. They're fun little fish! Also keeping my eye out for Pygmy Cories (Habrosus or Hastatus) and Cherry Shrimp. :) I may also 'inherit' my sister's Gold Gourami when she goes to college. My mom doesn't want it and I have room for another aquarium in my apartment.. I think.. lol. If anyone has any suggestions as to tankmates, I started a thread in the Anabantid section.
