Thanks for the compliment. When you do buy a larger aquarium, think in terms of an upgrade when you purchase. I bought a stand that will house both a 75 gal and if the day should ever come that it leaks and I need to replace it, I can buy just the tank alone and get a 90 gal in the same "footprint"... just taller than the one I have. Same tank top and lights. and of course re-use all the insides. Only the filter or heater might need an upgrade but those also cover a range.

Many years ago I did the same thing with I think a 30-35 gallon that leaked, and I replaced only the tank... same stand, top, lights, gravel, heater, filter etc... to a 45 Gallon tall. Same footprint, but about 6 inches taller. That is the "old" tank in the photo album. I passed it on to a TFK member for him to repair and use as it was way bigger than anything he had up until then. It was nice to pass it on to someone who could take the time to repair it!

If you are starting to think about upgrading, think about what you want to put in it.... A community of 20-30 small non aggressive fish or something much bigger with a minimum tank size. You would hate to fall in love with an Oscar in a 35 gallon to find out it needs 75gal later. Don't worry we've all done it!!

Thanks willow, and I am beginning to realize this. It's ok, I just love the little guys. I have spent years going to the lake catching the bigger ones and throwing them back, but this is cooler. Seeing them in their own environment.
