Hi, friendly community you all got going on here. I'm really not wet behind the ears when it comes to fishkeeping. Over the years I've had a few tanks. Very recently I decided to get started again and took the plunge and bought a 20 gallon tank. I let it run for 8-10 days, and I thought that was good enough. I have had 6 fish die within hours of introducing them, so I guess 8 days wasn't near enough. Anyways, on the bright side, for now, my green terror is still alive, and he doesn't look that bad.

likewise Yosilior and just remember to do those water changes daily atleast until everything stabilizes. I do 50% water changes everyday just because I like to take precautions(and I can see that the fish just love when the new water comes in!). The best medicine for your fish is fresh water and keep this in mind only bad things happen fast when it comes to aquariums. Everything else is just a bit of patience and careful planning.

Hi I have a question i am buying a 10 gallon tank tomorrow actually and I would like to know your guys opinions on what is the best filter for a FOWLR with like a damsel or a mollie

great no problem dont forget when you have everything ready set up your aquarium log so we can check out your aquarium and your fish and stuff!

hhmmm...see Im just the wrong person to ask because I tried most brands that make filters and none of them worked for me so I just went all out and got this crazy expensive german filter called Eheim.

why dont you get a 20 gallon? see the small filters they just are not reliable in my opinion...you can get an Eheim 2213 for a 20 gallon no problem if you just put a fake plant under the center of the intake..

how much are you planning to spend on the aquarium? gosh there are just so many more things that you could do if you get a 20 gallon..

do you want it planted? tell us more about what you want to do I want to help you make good decisions before you do anything:) see I just really wasted alot of money buying my first aquarium(which was in january by the way) you cant rely on anything the people tell you in the local pet stores :l

So you don't say. The guy at my LFS was saying that green terrors are only a *bit* territorial, and to make sure they are well fed, but are generally good community fish! I wonder what he would've said if I wanted a Piranha!

yeah those people are such fools man. If I told you about all the times they missinformed me about something it would make this thread like 3 pages. It is ridiculous.

Isn't a canister filter over kill for a 20l and especially a 10. Also not every one can afford them. I my self had to do a little waiting to get enough for a rena xp2

yeah its way overkill but its of the chain this filter. It was worth it and see its just that the other brands didnt work for me
