Yeah I am a little confused by the smile face in the post too. I would assume this is just a "curious thought" question, not a need to know. I don' t know how fussy Angels actually are but If my Angels were laying around on the bottom of the tank, I guess I would be doing some huge water changes very frequently. Keep an eye on those water parameters.

well, i had three angel fish a female gold, i called her blondie, the name fit her, lol and then i have my male striped and the black female, im thinking that they have now paired up which now i ran into another question, what do i do now? lol i never had this happen, they swim around side by side where she goes he goes. i keep my tank at about 80 since its hot in my house, i dont need a heater. other wise i would have fish sticks, lol.. i dont want that. he has be acting the same except for the "i follow u" thing his doing, i have dont water changes but still the same result. all the levels are fine. so i am wondering if theyre going to try and breed, i dont have another tank that i can put them in.. at least i dont think i do. im gonna have to look. i have raised Kenya cichlids before, but never angels.

amwjaguar first I want to welcome you to TFK. I am new with keeping angels myself and all of mine right now are too young to start pairing off and to start spawning. Have you seen the papilla of either fish. On the female it is wider and blunted, while on the male it is thinner and looks more pointed. They will also start to become more territorial of their area towards other fish, and you might notice them starting to clean different areas like leaf of a plant. If they are in a community tank, the chances of raising the fry will be slim becasue the eggs and fry will become snacks for the other fish. From the research that I have done you can keep a pair of breeding angels in a 29 gallon. The thing to think about is that you will need to have additional tanks to be able to grow the fry out in. You might also want to try posting your question in the breeding section. There is a chance that someone who has had more experience will see it and will be able to give you more advice. If you do not know how to post a new thread it is easy just go into the section that best fits your question, at the top of the page is a tab that says new thread just click on that and you are ready to go.  |

A friend will likely want a few but not a hundred or more. Check with your live fish store to see if they will take them in trade or sell outright? Also, from what I understand, they don't get it right the first time it is likely to be a case of "practice makes perfect" when it comes to Angelfish having babies.
