I have found that my males don't colour up until they are at least an inch long, sometimes the girls don't really show any tail colour or markings till a bit later.

i have to agree with biokid, just be patient and do you feed them a good quality food????....if you do then they should colour up faster and there colours will look better :):):)

thats good 4 them, you could also give them peas every now and again........put them in hot water for about 5 mins then take the shell off and crush them up in the water, your fish will love it, mine do! :):):)
