I need a snakeskin female too. Either that or I was gonna see what he and the dot tailed blue female would produce. If I could figure out how to get them to you I could ship you some of their offspring :) How do you ship fish anyway? And my Blue guppies are now dubbed "Carolina Blue Deltas" LOL Me and my other half are Tarheels fans so its fitting. Im gonna see if I can continue that pretty Carolina Blue color and trademark that variety. No seriously. That would be awesome as Ive never seen any others quite that color :) And my orange male has been called Sunrise, True Red Delta, Red/Orange Moscow, Albino Gold/Red Moscow, among other things. So your take on that is about as good as mine. Im fairly sure my snakeskin male fathered the babies my orange/red female is having. He was the only one chasing her around for a while, but then again we wont really know until the babies get here and grow a little as it truly could have been any of them lol Im actually looking into getting some pretty pure bred varieties. Theyre called Blue Hawaiian Moscow and Purple Hawaiian Moscows, as well as Half Blakc Pastels, and Polar Ice Moscows. Ill give you the link this guys been breeding top quality guppies and showing them for like 40 years.

The Russian Metal Lace variety are awesome too! You may like those since you like the "snakeskin" type patterns :)

Your orange boy looks just like one of mine. I thought he was a red blond. That would be great if he were a Sunrise! I love the snakeskins too!

Yeah there is one store near me who sells some gorgeous snakeskins. There has been a couple of gorgeous females (with bold snakeskin patterns on their tails and rainbow colors in between the black) I've gotten 3 but unfortunately my first 2 died shortly after giving birth. I hope the current one does fine. If so, I think I'm going to go back for another female or two and if they have some, a gorgeous male.

Whats a red blonde? Thats a first what type are they classified under I want to look it up. :) Yeah ironically my Gold Cobra male (because thats the apparent consensus on him) came from WALMART. And hes done the best out of all of them. Even they you are advised not to buy from there Ive actually had good luck with their fish. And they get in guppies that I dont see in other places. My poor Betta was from Wal-Mart I was walking in the fish section looking for a filter for my 1 gallon and he was one of the only ones left alive on the shelf. He was sickly, brown in color, and his fins were rotting off. So instead of using my 1 gallon for a nursery initially (Even though thats what it is now) it became his home because I just couldnt help myself. Now hes happy, healthy, vibrant, and a very bright lavender/pink color. I dont mind buying fish from WalMart so long as I have the same luck with all of them lol

Most walmarts I've been to (that actually have fish) have their fish in appalling conditions. Sometimes the fish are kind of unique (like one Walmart had puffer fish) so far I haven't found any good looking guppies at those nearby that carry fish that don't appear to be on the verge of death. If I were to get one it would definitely be quarantined for a bit longer than normal just to be sure.

There is a tuxedo type. I've seen it in platy I believe but I'm not sure about guppies. And I'm can't recall what they look like. So I can't say what traits they seem to exhibit. I believe it's just a different color pattern like a sunrise guppy or so on. On a side note, I was on aqua bid the other day looking at guppies and I saw one person was selling CROWNTAIL guppies. They were gorgeous little things. I can't even imagine how he/she was able to breed that trait into them.

Holy wow I googled some pics thats amazing! Thats a Betta trait normally isnt it? How on earth...I guess they only bred the most mutated looking guppies tail wise to get that trait lol Yeah our walmart here in NMB is pretty new and they keep the fish section up better than other WalMarts ive been to, and I think the only reason is because the guy who works that section (sad I know this) loves fish and has like 12 tanks himself. He orders what fish they get and everything. So long as hes working it I think I should be ok. Seriously though, if I see another male there like my snakeskin Ill let you know DragonFyre, Im sure it cant be so expensive to ship a fish its done everyday, and theyre not expensive there AT ALL. Only thing is walmart only gets males. Still have to get females elsewhere lol.

Yeah it's found most commonly in bettas. I believe it stemmed from a mutation that they continued to breed in. I didn't realize guppies got mutations like that. But I guess if you breed them long enough your bound to find something. I've seen a couple snakeskins around here but have refrained from getting them because my male to female ratio was a bit out of wack (same number of males as females. Females started dying off) but now that it's a bit more equal, I think I might go out and purchase one. I really do appreciate the offer, but I know my parents are very reluctant to have me receiving fish in the mail.
