Unknown Babies?

SO i have a male and female platy, but never have seen them swim together or spawn, but she had a gravid spot, but isnt fat
then i have a silver female molly, and i did have a male that died a couple of months ago, but she doesnt have a gravid spot and never has shown one...
Then i have a black molly that i got about the same time the male silver molly died, and i cant tell if she has a gravid spot cause she is black, but her stomach is much more square than any of my other female live breeders
and i just found 3 babies last night, in little light i though they were black
but i caught all 3 and put them in my net breeder right under my light and they look lighter in color

my female platy is a greenish color on her top half of her body, the belly half is yellow and her tail fin is red.... the male platy is red with black tail and fins........... anyone have an idea on what kind of babies these might be? and how many more i should expect and how long until what ever fish is popping them out will be done for a little bit before she gets prego again

well, they look like they get their coloring from the platy, so that's your best bet. just wait a few weeks and they should look more like their mother.

They look like platy to me, you will know for sure soon enough though.

As far as how many babies you can expect, it all depends. Livebearers can pop out 2-200 in one birth (20-30 being the average)...but how many survive to size viewable by us is always less as they get ate and sucked into the intake on the filters. To answer your last question...its something like 3-4 weeks inbetween pregnancies with livebearers I believe.

I also think it is the platy now too :) but she only had 3 in the corse of like 2 days... the babies were hiding under my bigger rock so the other fish couldnt get to them
