Unidentified fry in my tank.

I have a 10 gallon tank (I will be upgrading to a 20 gallon filter) with 3 neons, 3 guppies (2 female, 1 male). I just added 3 mickey mouse platys today. VERY cute...

NO FLAMING! this is the tank fully stocked. No more fish...

I was just admiring the new additions...

when I saw...

one ITTY BITTY fish!

I do not know if the platys are girls, prego, or what! I do not know if it is a guppy or platy baby.

So here are the questions:

1. How do I sex a platy? Are they male or female?
2.Are Platies as bad as guppies when it comes to reproducing??
3.Will they "take care" of (i.e. eat) the babies? I don't have room to breed, and will be taking lil' survivors to my lfs.

LAST THING..2 of the platys are swimming around hammy, and wone seems to be bottom sitting...it will get up and swim, but it hanthen goes and hangs out on the bottom again...is this normal when first introduced?

Sexing is pretty easy, males have a gonopodium. In the anal fins, the females will look like they have three identical fins, but on males the back anal fin will be pointed and stuck back.

All live bearers breed prolifically. You might want to contact your LFS and see if they would be interested in taking all those batches and baby fish off your hands. I've never seen them eat their fry, but it wouldn't surprise me. I imagine they would eat anything that was small enough and going through the water.

Keep a close eye on the other fish, I couldn't really tell you if anythings wrong but if he doesn't perk up in a little then maybe.
