What species are these headstanders? They require more than just a 20 gallons. If at all possible, stick with platies, guppies, mollies, cories, hatchets and tetras. Be sure to cover your tank as hatchets do fly out of the tank.

Internal filtration will work. What brands of heater are available in your area? Please see the Product, Service and Equipments review section for heater reviews. There are plenty of threads there that are concerned with the heaters.
