I've been going from site to site trying to find information, but so far I've come up basically stuck between two sets of advice.
My Molly is pregnant.
She was very lean and straight as an arrow, till a week after I introduced other mollies... then slowly I noticed her getting bigger and bigger. She eats great and swims fine which is why I knew it wasn't anything like swim bladder or anything serious.
Not to mention, she looks like picture of other pregnant dalmation mollies.
My question is this...
I've gone from site to site looking for help on what to do to protect the fry. (I am getting a 75 gallon tank soon, and I'd like it to be freshwater with mollies, tetras, and a few Dojo loaches.)
So far, the advice has been 50/50 on two sides.
50% say she should be separated into a 5 to 10 gallon tank where she can have her babies in peaces, and when she's done she can be reintroduced into the main tank... then the babies can be introduced once they're big enough.
50% say she's too far along her pregnancy to be moved, and I should buy a breeders net or nursery trap where the fry can fall to the bottom... They say I'll never have time to properly cycle the new tank (cause I'd have to buy one), and the stress would probably cause her to abort.
so can anyone help me break this even split?
