You said it right! that's what I plan on doing with the java moss, I just stuck it in that one spot temporarily. I bought more plants. Now, a lot of them aren't in the correct spot, just set there temporarily, but here's an idea of what else I bought.....

Looks good!Next you should add a black background to the tank. I was against backgrounds at first and finally got one after looking at tanks on here. The colors of the live plants pop out so much nicer against a black background...so do the fish!

they really do, but the tank is up on an island in my kitchen so you can see it from all sides and I like that I can do that

Ahh well that definitely changes things! No backgrounds then since there is no back!

wonderful job i bet it's a real joy to watch,i know
i'm enjoying watching it grow.
as for using fishing wire or cotton, please always make sure it is tightly secured,
i saw a thread on a fish forum on the net(i was looking at plecs)
and someones had got tangled in the fishing line, with awful outcome,
the plec did make it through,it was a very detailed thread, and they posted pictures
along the way for the progress.
just wanted to give the heads up.

when you set up a new tank, hide an extra
sponge or two behind some decor, that way you have
something seeded for you next filter.
