Looks much better. The next step will be going fully planted, get ready for it.

Looking good! Your lighting conditions will depend on what type of plants will thrive in your aquarium. Vallisneria americana or V. spiralis would reach the surface in your tank with no problem as long as they have enough light. Most stem plants will easily reach the surface as well and they can grow quite quickly. I have to trim my moneywort weekly to stop it from covering the whole surface! Crypt's do well in low light, and a red one adds some nice color contrast. Pennywort makes for a good floating plant as well, and my juvenile mollies love to hide in it. Browse through people's tanks on here for the ones you like, I'm sure they'll be happy to help :)

Here's a video of my tank when it was freshly planted, I'll have to get another one up now since everything has grown a lot!

Great work britny, glad to see you decided to lose the castle and get real plants! You will love your tank more each day and a feeling of satisfaction will overtake you when you will see those plants growing.
Glad you took this step!

Wait, are those real plants or not? Some looks real and some looks fake...
