Pregnant Platy Questions
I have a pregnant platy and she's pretty big already has a yellowish orange gravid spot. I dont know if i should put her in a plastic floating breeder box overnight.
The breeder boxes can stress out the fish, I tried it a couple of times and it never worked out. And a stressed fish can lead to diseases. You can try and catch the fry or provide plenty of cover (through floating plants etc). Ideally a breeding tank helps but unless your want to keep alot of fry I would try and catch them or provide plenty of hiding places. If you don't get many from the batch the chances are that she will have some more fry in a month or so.
Good luck =D

Although I believe in a later post you mentioned your platy mother already dropped, I think next time you should try using a plastic breeder. I have not had a disease enter my tanks in years, partly because I have not purchased any new fish. I have never had a mother die in the breeder, and sometimes I keep her in there for a week or 2. It saves so many fry that I think it is worth it.
