I have about 10 Platy fry in my tank now and did nothing to protect them.I gave them plenty of places to hide and have found that the adults loose interest in them on the second or third day. It is obvious that even without protecting them they are going to overcrowd my tank in short order. I know you don't see it as a problem yet ( I didn't either) but a 10g tank is going to get small soon. My 10 fry with 4 adolescents and 3 adults started as 3 adults 3 months ago, and I have 2 pregos about to pop. I have found a local fish store owner who takes them. On the other hand my male is a Gold Micky Mouse and the females are Gold Twinbars. The markings mixed and look like Fu Manchu mustaches. Nice looking fish. Have fun with yours but plan ahead and find somewhere to rehome them. A flood is coming.
