well i got home from school today and guess what........my orange female gave birth!!!i know this because her gravid spot is really light now and i dont see any babies eyes and she is skinnier.my neon is still pregnant i think.im sad i couldnt save any of the orange swordtails fry this is never gonna work for me. how do ppl get fry!! its like impossible
Sorry to hear you couldn't save them.
How do we get fry? We watch and wait, and when they are near birthing, we separate them. It is best to put them in their own tank entirely. If you can't convince your parents to let you separate her, I don't think there is too much chance of survival of the fry...
ok i just got back from basketball tryouts and let me just say im sore.i came home and my two little brothers and my mom said they saw a baby fish in the community tank and i was like no way.they said it was tiny and it had stripes.they saw it come down from the top and swim under the gravel and im trying to find it.
Oh neat! It must be so exciting for you to know that at least one survived. If I were you I'd feed him even if you don't see him. Crushed flakes would do fine.
You are going to breed bettas? I'm a betta breeder... In what size tank do you plan on spawning them? What tail type is the pair? I'd love it if you'd PM me and tell me more about your breeding project!
this is exactly how my neon fish looks like and ever since she gave birth about3 months ago she has been like this and i dont think she ever gave birth again. actually my girls gravid spot is bigger than that and i cant tell if there are any eyes.any help?
