Wink platy shapes

Me again with another dopey question

Are male n female platys different shapes? 4 of our platys are kinda short n rounder but the other 1 is like long n sleek. They all looked the same when we bought them.

I looked at the fins and they all looked fan shaped. The skinny fish now looks pointy on the fins. Can they change???

Thanks in advance

yes by the sounds of it you had young males that still had a fan shaped fin and then as they matured they developed the long fin ...thats called a gonopadia ...i think :):):)
