So my dilema is that "goofy" our thought to be male platy has puffed up and almost appears to be pregnant. Now I know that he has the male fish part, but he has just grown! He eats normally, water is fine, no disease, likes to rest at bottom of tank...I am starting to wonder if possibly he is a female and that his name"goofy" fits more than we initially thought. Ideas? Thoughts?
I thought he was! I just can't believe how much weight he put on- my male swordtail and female platy are still relativly tiny compared to this boy. He doesn't seem to eat more than the rest and still swims about...is this just who my goofy is? A chunker?
For me it's hard to tell... but it looks like its fins are clamped pretty tight... the tail isn't fanned out quite like it should be. Anybody want to support or refute that observation?
If that is the case... there could be something wrong.
But again, it's hard to tell since the picture is a bit fuzzy. Can you confirm whether the fins are actually clamped, or if they are fanned out normally but just have blurred into the background because of the photo quality?
Just went and took a peek at my babe and his fins are fine. I think its just hard to catch them on pic. They are very translucent. His tail is fine too- infact he loves to fan his tail lol.
