I want to add something interesting to my 10 Gallon tank that currently houses 2 dwarf sunset Platy and 2 ghost shrimps. What do you like most adding with Platys? Something interesting that you enjoy

i personally like assorted swordtails since they are nice,nice looking and eat algae

try some cardinal tetras. they are small and do well in groups of 6 or more.

No on Swordtails. They get too large and will interbreed with the platies.

Smaller tetras and Cories are great choices.

Maybe a small group of Neon or Blue Eyed Tetras both would be a nice touch of color.

Cories are always fun to watch. Sparkling gouramis would also be a good choice.

Rasbora hets go great with platies. They will school together if they are in a group of 5 or more and won't bother the platies.

I narrowed it down to another play and 5 white clouds or 5 danios or 5 black neon tetras or 5 neon tetras or 5 glowlight tetras.


What about barbs?

There aren't a lot of barb options for a 10g tank. Cherry barbs are small and peaceful and would work, but you've already got the red platies so I'd assume you'd want to avoid more red fish. The black neons, regular neons and glowlights are good options. Danios are pretty active for a 10g tank, and white clouds prefer cooler water.

yeah and i have a tropical tank so white clouds are out. I decided to go with neon tetras. I bought 3 already and is about to get 2 more. so far theyve gotten along fine with the platys. When the lights are out, they follow the platys as if there in a join school 0_0 . the platys dont seem to mind lol
